I really wish people would stop trying to let state and local governments in Florida – my birthplace – off the hook for their failure to invest in basic infrastructure upgrades over my lifetime.
As a frequent South Florida visitor, I’ll say it only takes about three seconds of looking at the way they do grade crossings to figure this out

People love to yell at public transit operators for high costs and point to Brightline as the solution, when the way that Brightline achieved those lower costs is pretty evident β€” and costly in its own right.

Buenos dΓas San Juan
It's a great place! We loved Evanston but it was much less vibrant than Center Square, just need to upgrade the Touhy bus to BRT-lite.

Yeah the proposal comes from Jarrett Walker's work with CTA & local advocacy, extending the route would be a huge upgrade for minimal additional service hours so 🀞🏼
This is right next to my local Dunkin! We just moved into West Ridge near Touhy because we were worried about Evanston's transit getting cut with the fiscal cliff, but if CTA gets funding they might extend the 49B to Howard & the 201 to Bryn Mawr which would be great for regional connectivity

Why TF does this Abercrombie ad at Old Orchard have a picture of the NYC subway instead of the L, the suburbs really do hate Chicago
Agreed, I usually just group them but I can't help but notice MTA Bus Co has mostly recovered to 2019 levels while NYCTA has not, maybe just statistical noise tho. I do wish Suffolk, Nassau, and Westchester were all operated by MTA too
Thanks! This will do for now, guess I'll have to create a GIS Layer myself, I'm just curious why MTA Bus Co has had better ridership growth recently and whether it possibly relates to population growth in its service area
Does anyone know of a list or GIS layer of which MTA NYC bus routes are operated by MTA Bus Company? Cannot find an easy answer online
It's not any different in an urban environment, what tf are kids supposed to do on the train except stare at their screens lol
The Bears are moving to Kirk's hometown and Fuentes was born in the city, if NYC has to claim Staten I think Chicago should at least include Cook county suburbs for better or worse, not like these places are any worse than like Mount Greenwood anyways
Have been waiting for the Switch release where indie games are meant to be played!

I'm not super into Greek mythology or action RPGS but the unique blend of the first one was absolutely intoxicating, glad to hear #2 is great too, can't wait ⚑
1-year ACS data is too noisy to draw concrete conclusions imo, I prefer using 5-year estimates which come out December 11th for more accurate analysis
I found a promotional shooting script for it randomly on the ground while walking around West LA haha, it's definitely Aronofsky's best!
As a millennial this is their first and last album I'll ever care to own, just add the Stadium Arcadium singles and it's perfect
RHCP are a leader in this category too
It took decades for the IBX to get off the ground, I could see the Queenslink possibly getting built in like 20 years tbh

Re today's fatal shooting: 'Under the changes in HB 128, which went into effect on May 7, individuals who are 18 years old or older and have a current Utah concealed weapon permit (CWP) may carry a weapon on campus, including in an β€œopen” fashion.'
New rules for firearms on campus - University Department of Public Safety
In order to carry a firearm on campus, a person must obtain a Concealed Carry Permit (CCP) from the state of Utah.

Charlie Kirk made a great point in his viral defense of gun violence, we should save 50k lives a year by banning cars
Utah Valley University is right next to a commuter rail station, conservatives will probably use this as an excuse to ban trains instead of banning guns
