Jackanory was a children's storytelling series first broadcast on BBC 1 from 13 December 1965. The series was designed to stimulate an interest in reading. The first story was the fairy-tale "Cap-o'-Rushes" read by Lee Montague. Jackanory was broadcast until 1996, with around 3,500 episodes in its 30-year run. Among those reading the stories were Joss Ackland, Tom Baker, Floella Benjamin, Alan Bennett, George Benson, James Bolam, Helena Bonham Carter, Richard Briers, Kathy Burke, Earl Cameron, Brian Cant, Matthew Corbett, Bernard Cribbins, Peter Davison, Judi Dench, Denholm Elliott, Rupert Everett, Harry Fowler, Edward Fox, Jan Francis and King Charles III. The Power Game was a drama series broadcast on ITV from 13 December 1965 to 1 April 1969. 3 series totalling 39 episodes were made. Sir John Wilder (previously seen in The Plane Makers), ruthlessly pursues boardroom machinations and tangled relationships. The cast includes Patrick Wymark, Jack Watling, Clifford Evans, Barbara Murray, Peter Barkworth, Rosemary Leach, Norma Ronald, Michael Jayston, Rachel Herbert, George Sewell, Fred McNaughton, Richard Hurndall, Robin Bailey, Barrie Ingham, Ian Holm and Philip Madoc. I'm sure there's entertaining stuff in there, but for me Kamen Rider is good because it's live action characters emulating over the top comic book heroes with sincerity.

When you take the live action element away and replace sincerity with what appears to be irony? To me, anyway?

As a middle-aged superhero fan myself, it definitely speaks to me at times. But I also haven't watched it in the better part of a month after stopping at wherever the dub ran out. There's certainly entertainment value to be found in it, though.

Windsor also appeared on television in Doctor Who, Carry on Christmas, Carry on Laughing, The Rag Trade, The Des O'Connor Show, Dad's Army, Up Pompeii, Worzel Gummidge, Filthy Rich and Catflap, Super Gran, Bluebirds, You Rang M'Lord, One Foot in the Grave, Who Do You Think You Are?, and Little Crackers. The Adventures of Annabel is a 6 part series broadcast on BBC Television from 10 December 1955 to 14 January 1956. Annabel is an “incident-prone” concert pianist. Episodes of the series deal with her life in London and her travels abroad where she became involved in exciting adventures. Each episode dealt with a different incident and was a self-contained story covering an 18-month period from the summer of 1954 to the autumn of 1955. The cast includes Elizabeth Allan (pictured), Hugh Sinclair, Margaret Tyzack, Norman Pierce, Freda Falconer, Gertan Klauber, Richard Shaw, Madge Brindley, John Scott, Howell Davies, Dennis Handby, Jean Rennie, Jon Curie, Patrick Troughton, John Schlesinger, Bernard Archard and Alfred Burke. The Cheaters was a drama series broadcast on ITV from 10 December 1960 to 1962. 2 series totalling 39 episodes were broadcast. ITV shows a one-off reality documentary about Britain's Oldest Criminals.
Pinky and the Brain originally were part of the US animated series Animaniacs. They were eventually given their own series which debuted in the UK on Children's ITV from 10 December 1995. 4 series totalling 65 animations were created. Pinky and the Brain are genetically enhanced laboratory mice who reside in a cage in the Acme Labs research facility. Pinky is good-natured but feeble-minded, while Brain is highly intelligent but arrogant and bitter. In the bulk of each episode, Brain devises a new plan to take over the world with Pinky's assistance, which ultimately ends in failure, usually due to the impossibility of Brain's plan, his own overconfidence, an oversight on his part, Pinky's bumbling, circumstances beyond their control, or a combination thereof. Voiced by Rob Paulsen and Maurice LaMarche. An Amblin Entertainment production with Warner Bros. Television Animation. Britain's Oldest Criminals is a one-off reality documentary shown on ITV on 10 December 2015. As the UK population ages, so do its criminals; the over 60s are now the fastest growing age group in UK prisons. These pensioners are not growing old gracefully, having committed everything from robbery, to fraud, to…pigeon feeding. Old age, it seems, is no barrier to committing crime, whether it’s breaching an ASBO or continuing a lifelong stealing habit. There are nearly 4000 over 60s in UK prisons, is sending them to jail always the best solution? A Wild pictures production for ITV.
