The first time I remember using Twitter during a catastrophe was Hurricane Katrina. I was NOT there. I stayed up all night in San Diego, retweeting and crying. I listened to this guy broadcasting from New Orleans. It took so long for help to come. It broke my heart.

How naive of me to think once we could all hear about things nearly simultaneously, we would use that capability for good. To rescue people.

The truth is, there is no actual ceasefire in Gaza. We continue to hear the sounds of tanks, shooting, and shelling near us every single day. Over the last seven days alone, dozens of Palestinian civilians were killed, most of them just passing by on the streets 🍉🇵🇸

I got a Balboa Park Explorer Pass as a CASA, so I'm free, and we just need to pay for the girls. We will probably do 1-2 museums with them then let them splinter off for a while. The cute bf has never been to the model railroad museum! So that's our side quest.

I promised the daughter I would take her and her friends to Balboa Park tomorrow. We are going to a few museums and they also want to play badminton. Me, the cute bf, and 3-4 teenage girls. Oh em gee.

We tackled the grocery store. In and out in 45 minutes. Not terrible. We got everything except a graham cracker crust and 2 chickens. They were sold out but getting more tomorrow. The cute bf has ventured out to a 2nd store to look!
