I honestly didn’t think I’d be heading back to Utah with any good news.
But man have I learned a lot.
Make end of life and elder care plans long before you need them. You have no idea how much your family does when crisis hits and there are roadblocks waiting for you in our broken system.

3 weeks ago my dad had a massive heart attack. He flatlined 3 times. Multiple ribs fractured during CPR. He’s also diabetic and been dealing with kidney failure. Through sheer stubbornness he survived all that and an icd operation. Yesterday we brought him home on his 87th birthday.
Feeling lucky.

Today I offer some thoughts on what the “foundation of NBA competition” and “integrity” of the game mean. Spoiler alert: there is integrity in tanking when the system incentivizes it and backs small markets into a corner.

Jaren Jackson Jr. is going to have surgery in the next few days to remove a growth in his left knee that showed up in his post-trade MRI.
Jazz say they're not giving a timetable until after surgery, but Chris Haynes is reporting that he's likely out for the rest of the season.

Looks like tonight will be the first look at (almost) what the Jazz roster will look like. All newly acquired players available, Lauri and Keyonte available as well as Nurk and Love. Walker Kessler (out for the season) the only player that’s out.

Confirming: Jazz are getting two second-rounders (2028 and 2032) and Lonzo Ball from the Cavs. Jock Landale is headed Atlanta for cash considerations.

I get that initial reaction but at some point to get good players you have to give up good picks, and you don't want to be depending on a potential pick 5 years down the road, not knowing what the Suns will look like. You'd rather already be competing and having built up a good team.
I REALLY like the trade overall. But I do wish they could have kept that 2031 Phoenix pick.
