Jaren Jackson Jr. is going to have surgery in the next few days to remove a growth in his left knee that showed up in his post-trade MRI.
Jazz say they're not giving a timetable until after surgery, but Chris Haynes is reporting that he's likely out for the rest of the season.

Classic
Collin Sexton misses the first free throw, cusses out the rim, makes the second free throw, flips off the rim 😂

Looks like tonight will be the first look at (almost) what the Jazz roster will look like. All newly acquired players available, Lauri and Keyonte available as well as Nurk and Love. Walker Kessler (out for the season) the only player that’s out.

What should Jazz fans expect this season, next season, what the fit with JJJ looks like and more:
Landing Jaren Jackson Jr. makes one thing very clear for the Utah Jazz — the rebuild is over and winning is right around the corner

Jazz are expected to waive Ball. So cash and seconds acquired
Confirming: Jazz are getting two second-rounders (2028 and 2032) and Lonzo Ball from the Cavs. Jock Landale is headed Atlanta for cash considerations.

I would like to formally sign up for said considerations
I also would like to acquire cash considerations.
The headlines on official trade announcements are always fun to see what teams come up with. This one might be an all-timer.

I get that initial reaction but at some point to get good players you have to give up good picks, and you don't want to be depending on a potential pick 5 years down the road, not knowing what the Suns will look like. You'd rather already be competing and having built up a good team.
I REALLY like the trade overall. But I do wish they could have kept that 2031 Phoenix pick.

Memphis gets
- 2027 most favorable of Utah/Cleveland/Minnesota
- 2027 Lakers' pick
- 2031 Phoenix
Do we have a breakdown on the draft picks yet?

Can confirm the Jazz are trading Taylor Hendricks, Walter Clayton Jr., Georges Niang, Kyle Anderson and 3 firsts for Jaren Jackson Jr., John Konchar, Jock Landale and Vince Williams Jr.

Just thought I’d let everyone know that I’ve been dealing with a family emergency back in California, so my Jazz coverage has been a little spotty and will continue to be so for a little while. Hug all your people❤️

Being silenced or debilitated by fear is a very real thing. Fear of safety, employment, etc.
"Every day, I wake up and see the news and I'm horrified. I think it is crazy that some people make it sound like it's acceptable, like the murder of civilians is acceptable." - Victor Wembanyama says about the killings in Minnesota

The Miami Heat have a back-to-back in Phoenix tomorrow but their flight has been delayed for some reason and they are still at the Delta Center waiting to find out when they can leave.
January 25, 2026 at 7:35 AM
This is just the 8th time the Miami Heat have had 26 or more offensive rebounds...ever
The last time (prior to today) the Miami Heat had 24 offensive rebounds was Dec. 7, 2002.
January 25, 2026 at 5:01 AM
There it is, three straight triple-doubles for Jusuf Nurkić. First time in Jazz history.
January 25, 2026 at 4:59 AM
Nope. Pistol Pete had a back-to-back, but no Jazz player has every had 3 straight triple-doubles.
JC broke the curse so that one day a Nurk would come and fulfill the prophecy. lol

Has any Jazz player ever gotten 3 in a row?
January 25, 2026 at 4:42 AM
Nurk is three rebounds away from a third straight triple-double
