I’m ok. I’m a survivor so this small agitator isn’t going to intimidate me from doing my work.

I don’t let bullies win.

Grateful to my incredible constituents who rallied behind me. Minnesota strong.

Most American families can’t afford child care because our system is broken. It’s too hard for providers to deliver quality care while making a living wage at a rate that’s affordable for families. That’s why we NEED more federal investment in child care.
Most U.S. families don't earn nearly enough to afford child care, study finds
"Child care costs are just incredibly daunting for all but the wealthiest Americans," one financial expert said.

A note on Holocaust Remembrance Day posts.

There are obviously bad actors who do this intentionally, but I’ve learned over the years that many well-meaning people don’t realize how important it is to include this phrasing.

I grew up with Alex Pretti
The kind-hearted ICU nurse shot by ICE agents was my childhood best friend.

ICE murdered Renée Good in broad daylight. Less than 3 weeks later, they killed Alex Pretti, shooting him 10 times. Every day, we watch as people are ripped from their cars, their homes, their lives.

We can't allow ourselves to look away from this cruelty. Abolish ICE.

Wow! This read-along of the NYT moment-by-moment leading to the murder of Alex Pretti should shake everyone awake. He was a Good Samaritan.

Agents fired at least ten shots in roughly five seconds. DHS and Pam Bondi claim Pretti approached them armed and intent on a “massacre.”

🚨BREAKING: State election leaders and voting rights advocates across the country are blasting U.S. Attorney General Pam Bondi for exploiting the killing of a U.S. citizen in Minneapolis by a federal immigration officer to “blackmail” Minnesota into handing over access to its unredacted voter rolls.
‘All-out assault on our democracy:’ Bondi’s Minnesota blackmail letter draws righteous fury from state election leaders
“This isn't leadership. This is blackmail," Arizona Secretary of State Adrian Fontes said. "This is the way organized crime works."

🚨Renee Nicole Good and Alex Pretti, both 37 y/o, were victims of federally funded and DHS sanctioned murder.

🛑 DO NOT FUND ICE 🛑

A vote for further funding to DHS is a vote for more murders, unlawful assault and detainment of innocents by a rogue government agency.

Citizens Bank provides nearly $1 trillion in credit & bonds to private prison companies.

AT&T has a $147 million contract to provide communications services to DHS.

There may be some niche examples somewhere, but I cannot think of any system, natural or human-made, that isn't strengthened by more diversity. Ecology, biology, economics, politics, agriculture... am I missing anything?
This lesson is reflected everywhere and in everything.

Alex Pretti was an American hero. He saved lives. He protected people. He cared deeply about his community, unlike the murderous thugs who killed him.

The very last thing he did was try to help a woman who had been pepper-sprayed and violently shoved to the ground by ICE. 1/

Feeling wore down today. I think it’s a mix of the cold, dry air, allergies, and possibly a cold… but I’m not convinced, could just be the allergies. No matter, I’m feeling run down, so my anti-regime work for tonight will be writing postcards to encourage voting.

We are not the first people, or the first country, to suffer under a tyrannical government that does not respect our lives, or our rights.

There is a method for how to effectively resist, and eventually topple, such a regime. We can learn from others who came before us.

This is my favorite guide.
