When I was in high school, we would have "rolling blackouts" during the summer. There was one house on the block that had lights 24/7. Their house was all solar. And their electric bill every month was $5. If that's not proof that renewable energy is a good thing, than I don't know what is.
In Germany the only source of electricity that keeps growing and growing: renewable energy.
Solar and wind keep expanding and even though nuclear is no more coal generation has already shrunk significantly and keeps falling.
