Today’s #orctober share is another one of my favorites, this time from @hadsbae.bsky.social - I love slice of life stuff like this and their work is just incredible.

Amazing how he can take a throwaway joke from a previous book, twist it a bit to make a new minor running gag and then use it to do something that powerful out of nowhere in the 11th hour.

Every time I opened the ebook app, I would see like "76% Read" and think to myself "Ok this does *not* feel like the last quarter of a book, it feels like I've just barely started!"
But I didn't dislike it or anything. Sometimes a book just has to be in the middle of the pack.

Been a while since my last Discworld Update, but I can now report that I've finished Jingo.
It was alright, but not as good as Feet of Clay imo. The pacing felt a little weird too. The front and back half feel a bit like two different plots, so once they get on the boat, it feels like a new story.

I have never seen a movie with a more manufactured third act conflict than NPH yelling "I don't want a bunch of little feet running around my apartment!" at the smurfs and then the cut to his pregnant wife looking shocked and betrayed.

The artist hasn't said anything about it, so they might be cool with it, but from my perspective it just seems really weird and kinda disrespectful???
(Also...tbh they do a really bad job of cropping, so the "sticker" doesn't even look good 🫢)

For the last month, whenever the artist who runs the server makes a new piece of art, someone in the channel grabs it and slices out the characters from the background to make bootleg TG stickers.

I've said it before but it really is amazing how a group chat that has a "No Roleplaying" rule will still result in people who just openly and blatantly do rp or even erp and then act defensive when you ask them to stop.

I was considering doing another Halloween Costume Post with my OCs talking about/misinterpreting each other's costumes while standing in the woods (ala Homestar Runner)
The original idea was all the costumes to be from Turnabout Tuesday games but I think I need to branch out to other streamed games.
