The first book of my #isekai series Memes of the Prophets is available on Amazon, DriveThruFiction, and Lulu. It mixes commentary on Big Ideas, fantasy worldbuilding, and comedy into a strange tale of a catgirl trying to find her way in an Earth-obsessed world.

I got an advent calendar from Ikea, and when I opened the first one this morning I realized it was significantly higher quality that I'd assumed.

Not quite as retro as a manual typewriter, but I got a Fiio Echo Mini audio player, which has a cassette theme and also there's a 3D printable case shaped like a cassette case.

This is making me appreciate the spread at the Friendsgiving potluck I went to, with food that involved seasoning, effort, and moisture.
Karoline Leavitt's Thanksgiving spread. Please dissect.

I randomly came across the Black Sabbath song "The Wizard," which really feels like a midpoint between Black Sabbath and Tenacious D. www.youtube.com/watch?v=69rU...

Evil power disappears
Demons worry when the wizard is near
He turns tears into joy
Everyone's happy when the wizard walks by

I belatedly got into Dragon Ball Z Abridged, and while the humor is sometimes tasteless, overall it's just an amazing parody. They managed to exaggerate how dumb Goku is, which is a feat.

So basically, calling a place California is like a 16th Century version of calling a place like Westeros or Tatooine.

I started reading Rachel Wagner's Cowboy Apocalypse, which is nothing to do with DeadLands, and is in fact a nonfiction book that explores the intersection of apocalypticism and America's cowboy mythos. It's fascinating and disturbing.

Realized that YouTube got more aggressive about muting copyrighted music, and it isn't that my Apple TV is malfunctioning. Would've been nice if YouTube could bother to say literally anything so I'd have some way to know, but "informing the user of what's happening" isn't as much a thing these days.

My current wishlist for Xeroverse stories written by someone else:
• A story about a superheroine that explores gender
• A story that explores race in superhero stories
• A story framed as a fanfic that explores fanfic

I'm going to have to find a Jewish sensitivity reader for M-Force: Messiah, because in critiquing how superhero blockbusters are cowardly about political themes, I wrote Momentus (my Magneto expy) being really blatant about his experiences with the Holocaust and after.

There are times when a lone dissenter stands for what's right against the majority. This is not one of those times.
The “Epstein Files Transparency Act” passes the House via a nearly unanimous vote of 427-1.

Rep. Clay Higgins of Louisiana is the single holdout

Once again, Killfile in Xeroverse is first and foremost an expression of the idea that dealing with Deadpool in person would just be the worst.

I got to see the new Deathstalker movie and it was great. It's a funny low-budget fantasy thing, full of over the top practical effects.

I finished reading the complete works of Fletcher Hanks, and I made a list of my favorite lines. I realized that his work is the first time I've come across a "so bad it's good" thing in comics, like a graphic novel by Ed Wood or Tommy Wiseau.

One theme in conspiracy theories is that they invent malevolent competence to explain how the world works, because the amount of chaos and stupidity behind how things really work is just depressing.
Something that’s so striking in these emails is how…unimpressive Epstein is. He comes off as a pompous, sub-literate lech. Yes everyone is so mortifyingly solicitous of him! All fawning and flattery! Why?????

Patrick H. Willems did a two-part video on legacy sequels (think Ghostbusters: Afterlife, Top Gun: Maverick, etc.), and trying to think of how to work some of that weirdness into the Xeroverse.
