i was rejected from another thing i applied to. this one was a stretch, admittedly, i didn't go in with a lot of confidence.

it would be nice to land a win.

the way i'd be all "fuck yeah, i'm coming along" if i were in the @midnightburger.bsky.social diner right now...

my weekend was spent at various dining tables with friends and i tell you what, recommend. i was feeling kinda blue and isolated and it was JUST THE TICKET.

and what's really crazy is that this seems like a super accurate recap of wtf is happening! and we're harshly punishing folks because... reasons? whut?

the constant gaslighting is so wearing.
To recap: the two major parties refuse to rein in the reign of a demented sociopathic king who daily is marching us into both World War III and the next Civil War simultaneously because a Black president once made fun of him and also the Special Boy wasn't given the Shiny Golden Medal he covets

was chatting w a friend about the upcoming FIFA games in seattle and honestly, stay home. i would love to see y'all here in seattle, i would but we don't deserve you. not right now. y'all can boycott the daylights out of us, it's ... understandable.

For some time my gay boyfriend and I have been cooking our way around the world. It has recently occurred to me what a delicious fuck you this is to the anti-immigrant anti-diversity mindset. We're in Spain right now, paella and sweet potatoes.

i'm reaching capacity levels for Living in America right now, but i did my errands by bike, and swam laps at the Y where it's super diverse, and i'm having a really nice Spainish dinner with my long term gay boyfriend (making paella) i'm just gonna take a minute and call it good. because fuuuuuuuck.

There is going to be a general strike on January 23. Make sure you don't cross the picket line.
every single successful general strike in US history has had union backing through the local AFL-CIO

this is the first time it’s been called for since the 1940s

a thing i can not get anywhere near enough of is absurdity as a reaction to this stupid fucking time. inflatables ala portland frog. art sleds. crazy amazing graffiti. furries dancing in the streets. give me all of it. i love it.
We needed this art sled rally

been pondering why i'm so personally rattled by the MN attack and
1. i have such good friends in minneapolis
2. the immigrant/refugee program i volunteered with shuttered after the election and that kinda broke my heart
3. IT'S JUST FUCKING WRONG

on a mostly empty beach on moloka'i i got to talking w a native hawaiian guy. he told me a thing he loves about going to the beach is how later, at home, he'll think about how great it was to be at the beach. this is some kind of next level existentialism. it was YEARS ago, i STILL think about it.
Anyone else have an encounter with a total stranger that they will never stop thinking about? I often think about the time I was in a bookstore waiting for a bathroom to open up, and a guy in one of the bathrooms was taking an incredibly loud crap while repeatedly yelling “SIRI, WHAT CITY IS THIS”

I keep thinking about the toxic, pervasive mythology of "rugged individualism" as a driving force in American culture, and how the collective efforts in the Twin Cities right now are proof that the only way through hard times is together, as a community.

i was feeling a little blue about being single still in this new year, then i spent 72 hours on the dating apps and that fixed it.

#seattle #bikesky the state wants to legislate e-motos and those of us on ebikes don't want to get swept up in that. Wa Bikes has asked we mark ourselves as PRO this item so we are not restricted by laws that impact e-motos, we get to be BIKES. which we are. please and thank you.

this is a thing i come back to over and over, diversity is just the fucking BEST, we recieve endless gifts, our lives are richer and more colorful. you don't want that, fine, don't partake, but don't steal it from me. don't desaturate my existence because you want to live in grayscale.
I realise I'm just a freak, but living in a multicultural city is the best thing of all time, it's just the best possible human experience and i can not understand why anyone on earth would be like "weve got to destroy this"
