This morning, I was hit in the face by a baton.

I’m going to have a pretty gnarly bruise but we need to remember why this is happening: Trump and ICE are rounding up our neighbors, treating them as subhuman, and shipping them off to labor camps in foreign countries. It has to end.
I can't enter/exit my own home without being recorded by my neighbor's Ring less than 20 feet from my own front door : /
Technology like Flock and Ring doesn’t make people safer, it just subjects them to a round-the-clock warrantless digital dragnet. “Privacy isn’t dangerous, but giving privacy up for a false sense of security is very dangerous,” EFF’s Jennifer Pinsof told @CNBC.com. www.cnbc.com/2025/10/16/...
*libreWOLF, idk why my dumbass called it librefox sorry
This fingerprinting tool from the EFF team is one of my most favoritest tools I've ever come across.

See how private your browser ACTUALLY is. (I'll post my own results below. I use @zen-browser.app or LibreFox <3)

YMMV, but here's a few different results based on a pretty basic hardened setup from both Zen and LibreWolf.

Zen had different results when disabling my dark mode extension. Whereas, Librewolf actually gave the same (better) results either way.

I side with Zen SOLELY because of screenshot privacy
I'm sorry to hear that, and I hope this discussion can help destigmatize addiction for anyone reading this <3

Cops led us into the street as the new “protest zone” and then beat us repeatedly.

Got hit in the face with a baton. Leaving to pick up my friends who were arrested.

Stay safe out there.
and gambling is such a good choice to ask this question about because it's arguably one of the more recognizable and damaging addictions, but it's an extremely difficult topic BECAUSE it's such a different creature from chemical dependency on opiates, for example (or even, like, weed vs. alcohol)
If my professor is hazy about an answer they're giving me they won't bullshit me to my face and lie about it.

Hope this helps.
Wow. Just wow.

But all THAT is another conversation about whether or not addiction is physiological or habitual. addiction literally re-wires your brain and body, but how and why and how much is up for debate
ALL THAT BEING SAID, there ARE bona fide outcomes or symptoms of addiction that are hard to get away from even if you're functional and wealthy

Stuff like needing more product to get the same high.
Losing the color or joy from life and relationships.
Compulsive use that can be hard to say no
Its gonna be extremely hard to label gambling addiction as such if you're looking at billionaires gambling versus someone risking homelessness because of it.

Pretty much every definition you'll find for "addiction" is going to have some caveat that makes it not as strict as we are taught
Sorry my evidence is just anecdotal personal stuff

Like growing up religious and dealing with "porn addiction" kind of makes you realize how hazy of a line exists between "addiction that ruins my life" and "addiction that is SUPPOSED to ruin my life"

📢 BREAKING NEWS 📢
EFF and co-counsel have filed a lawsuit against the Departments of State and Homeland Security for their viewpoint-based surveillance and suppression of First Amendment-protected speech online. (1/5)
Yes, actually. Addiction is, indeed, a spectrum.
BECAUSE Librewolf is that little bit better, it typically doesn't do well when i post screenshots and things to bluesky.

I'm assuming it's something about the results i get from the "Am I Unique" website about canvas rendering

they always look striped like this
