It was great for the Women’s Network to get involved with this & so refreshing for Westminster to be considering social safety in their criteria! More of this please 👏🏻
Regent's canal is a popular🚴‍♀️route - efficient, vehicle free & scenic. But cycling after dark vs during the day feels a vastly different proposition. How socially safe would you feel here at night? @londoncycling.bsky.social volunteers tested 2 new proposed routes to bypass the canal ⬇️

Technology has moved on. The law hasn’t. This consultation is an important chance to make sure the rules work for people who use powered mobility devices.
To support the DfT’s consultation into modernising the law for powered mobility devices in achieving the best possible outcome for Disabled people, we will be launching explainer information resources, webinars and carrying out consultation sessions.

It is VERY slippery out on the roads & pavements today. We’ve already heard about a couple of pedestrian falls & collisions between cars. Council don’t seem to have done any gritting. Please be careful out there!

This is great news & I encourage as many people as can do so to respond to this consultation. Current legislation around the use of mobility aids is incredibly confusing & leaves Disabled people in fear of breaking the law or of having their vital mobility aid confiscated 😱
We're delighted the Department for Transport has launched a public consultation into reviewing the law around powered mobility devices.

This has the potential to improve the independence, physical & mental health, employment & social options of Disabled individuals and their families across the UK.
Government seeks views to modernise laws on powered mobility devices
Have your say on how laws around powered mobility devices could reflect modern technology and improve safety by 31 March 2026.

Romford Road cycleway represent! Section B and D now open in both directions, further sections look not far off (although looks like Thames Water may be back at section H again soon…)

Hopefully there’ll be good news about the junctions soon too 🤞
Had a quick look at Romford Road. The Stratford end is now open, but still lots going on between there and Ilford.

Our estimates off DfT data is London's 1.5 million cycled journeys daily now accounts for well over half of all cycle journeys made in England. That's an amazing end-of-year reflection alongside this ace @peterwalker99.bsky.social piece about what London & LCC included is getting so right...
