In a movie about things getting nuked?
Here’s another example. This parent is dropping their kid off at Two Rivers and parks (regularly) on the crosswalk. The crosswalk tons of other parents and kids are trying to use to safely get to school.
Just watched a delivery driver sprint to his car because he parked in the road, blocking a lights-on ambulance. He moved the car to the other side and parked it in the street again. So many safety issues on our streets boil down to people’s impatience-fueled disrespect for other people’s safety.
I don’t understand why we went from skinny to baggy and couldn’t at least pause for a couple fashion cycles inbetween.
The study said that was one factor and only in specific ways (e.g., RPSs or states with very high rooftop solar, like CA). They also cite high transmission costs, weather-related risk, and materials costs.

“the findings underscore the diverse set of price determinants”
Real love-hate thing for me, so hard to be objective. I’d say it’s entertaining in some ways but also far from great.
Having grown up in Fairbanks, watching The Last Frontier on AppleTV is a weird experience. I can’t tell if they sent an actual scouting team to go up and do research or if they just sat an intern down with Google Maps and told them to write down all the words. 🤷‍♂️
Just watched these there cars all turn left from Eckinton PL to Florida Ave despite the no left turn. Enforcememt here would be good, but @ddotdc.bsky.social can you at least upgrade the signage so it’s more obvious?

Literally, metaphorically
Such a critical infill connector. From wildly unsafe to really-quite-safe more or less overnight. Good work!
The new Rivian e-bike sounds pretty amazing. Between the drive system, security features, regenerative braking, optional gear shifting, there's a lot that appeals, especially for urban biking. Curious to see what real-life review say.

Rivian’s spinoff micromobility company just unveiled its first electric bike
Rivian is known for designing its electric trucks from scratch. Now a spinout company has done the same thing for an electric bike.

I can imagine all the reasons why REI is closing down the online ReSupply, but it's nevertheless really disappointing. I'm not much of a used clothing shopper generally, but I've become a huge fan of ReSupply.
The lane going in at Florida/H St/14th NE is terrific, great work @ddotdc.bsky.social. Too often it’s these small gaps in an otherwise effective system of lanes that dramatically decrease the value and safety. This gap has been a problem for years, and it’s such an improvement to fix it. #bikedc

Retired Army Sgt. Brian Wofford spoke to me this morning at the Oklahoma City #NoKings protest. Didn’t expect him to be carrying his DD214 so I asked some warmup questions like when he got out and whether his injury was service-related.

He paused while describing the car bomb in Iraq to say this:

Fascism is bad. Free speech and peaceful protest is good!

It's #NoKings day, folks! Let's have fun!
Yes! Still need some work on the MBT crossing but a really good improvement!
Yes. It feels like they’re on a different evolutionary path than they think they’re on.
And we rely on a combination of, yes, rote facts and memorized sequences of words or ideas, but critically we also depend on fundamental rules of observation, reasoning, analysis, and complex patterns. All of the latter seem well beyond any of the current AI tools.
