Hopefully Edinburgh and Scottish Rugby lodges a formal complaint. The primary purpose of the referee is to keep players safe - arguable if he was doing that last night.

I’ve been wondering that too - I don’t think that question has crossed their minds; I think they assume that if they get approval from World Rugby, they will supply the match officials.

Being cynical, women’s teams have been included to generate support and the feel good factor; they haven’t been included because of any genuine interest - had that been present, the initial documentation wouldn’t have had the competition overlapping with the Women’s 6 Nations.

It will be interesting to see what they offer the female players in terms of remuneration. My guess is that it won’t come close to 6 figures let alone 7 and that it could well be based on the number of matches played etc.

Completely agree. It shows a staggering lack of understanding as to how this all works - I say lack of understanding because the stuff they’ve put out so far is incredibly poorly thought out.

The tickets for the Lions matches had the kick off time as 15/20 minutes earlier than it was … apparently it was done to entice people into their seats ahead of the anthem …
I assumed it was just for that series because of the number of travelling fans.
