I thought this #annashummingbird wings were wet the other day because they were so black—but look at this light effect of the iridescent feathers capturing the little bit of light on this wet and grey PNW day in BC, going from black to fuschia pink with a twitch of his head!

It’s starting to really look like fall here at BOAT manor

A Spanish Swamp Oak Tree that Nicole refers to as BOAT short for Big Oak Acorn Tree is starting to take on the deep dark shades of red as well as the other neighbours trees. The Japanese stewartia is now fully red. Everything else is remaining green except everything that’s dead in the pots which are normally filled with flowers still at this time of the year but that this is life. You can only do so much and got to pick your spoons. And I don’t have any garden fairies around here but I really could use some if you know some.

5/5 Our Song Sparrow conclusion had a good outcome. So happy because it’s not always the case. Sometimes these little one (usually the smaller juncos can go into shock and get to cold and just slip away) but this one made it :)
