the ideal version of this game, IMO, is just barebones pet creation rules and then a thousand roll tables like this one in Songbirds 3e

A change of pace for a moment.

A Northern Pygmy Owl stares into the camera while I capture it with electron. It's just over 6" long and it captures songbirds like Juncos & Chickadees which it swallows whole (whole foods).

This was taken at Coppermine Bottoms campground on the Olympic Peninsula.

Spotted Towhees (Passeriformes: Passerellidae: Pipilo maculatus) are a common sight in much of western North America. These songbirds spend much of their time in scrublands where they forage for a variety of insects, seeds, and fruit. Guadalupe Mountains National Park, Texas, 15 Apr 2017.

The book is great
The problem with the movie is that they spent too much time focusing on what is, frankly, the least important part of the story: the actual Hunger Games main event

Blue Jay on a green garden bird feeder. Blue jays are bold, intelligent songbirds of North American woodlands, easily recognised by their crest and loud calls. They thrive in forests and gardens, caching acorns and fiercely defending their nests.

I heard songbirds this afternoon for the first time in weeks. And strawberries are all over the grocery stores & fruiterias 🍓 Happy reminders that spring is on its way ☺️

To show how widespread SGAR rat poison is in UK, we found 4 out of 5 Sparrowhawks are also dosed with it. www.sciencedirect.com/science/arti...
You might well ask how a predator that eats birds gets dosed with rat poison? Answer: people chuck it everywhere and it's in insects, songbirds, everything.
UK also has massive issue of SGAR poisoning: virtually every barn owl, kite, kestrel ingests rat poison.
If invented today they'd never be licensed. But they're not banned because food/hygiene industries can't yet do without them. But to have them available in supermarkets/garden centres is insane.
Household rat poisons found to be ‘unacceptable risk’ to native animals. So why aren’t they banned? 🌎

#Riparian Seeing as how it is World Wetlands Day, here's a pic of my favourite spot to spend the day with my camera. This a storm sewer over flow pond that backs onto a designated riparian zone. This pond acts a nursery for various duckling species as well as amphibians, muskrat and songbirds.

Very happy to find this lil brown streaky guy—a Lapland Longspur—yesterday in the cold. Only the second time I’ve ever seen one! Funny what makes a birder happy. (Full discloz: this bird had been reported by others for days, so I was primed for it.) 🪶

Happy Monday #Heartsky

It's the start of a new week! I'm hoping to finish Mockingjay and begin The Ballad of Songbirds and Snakes over the next few days. Should be a quiet morning.

I hope you're all doing well and have a wonderful day 🍂❤️❤️🍂
