A home in the City of London for unloved and rescued plants. It lies in the shadow of the ancient Church of All Hallows by the Tower.

A raspberry isn’t one fruit, it’s dozens of tiny ones! 🍓 (well, technically “drupelets”).

If pollination is uneven, some drupelets don’t develop, leading to “wonky” fruit. A flower that has received plenty of insect visits is less likely to be wonky.

Winterbourne Gardens looking spectacular this afternoon. Absolutely love the golden and reddish hues of the sweetgum on the right.

It’s important to clean nest boxes once a year and take note if they’ve been used.

During our annual nest box cleaning an agitated red-tailed Queen bumblebee flew out of one and flew around until we had finished and went back in! Alas no photo of her.

Thank you TCV Lambeth @tcvnational.bsky.social for the annual scything of the meadow. The arisings will be left in heaps for a few weeks and will be composted on site - then we’ll rake and scarify before #CityofLondonPoliceHorses come to help break up the ground prior to seeding.

A phenomenal @wildsummituk.bsky.social in Bristol yesterday, with colleagues from across the nature sector.

A privilege to speak on the opening panel, on how Govt can best meet its 2030 nature targets.

Also thought-provoking to hear debates on nature finance, farming, planning and beyond!
