In case anyone else is curious this is a sneak peek at an Ascii slice of life style anime game that's a text-based adventure game. 🤫

This is one of many projects, but this will have a demo soon.
Ascii art is a lost art that is making a comeback.

At this stage very much so and i would love to do something similar so at this point in time i may freeze and fork this snapshot and keep building but that's a great point.
This little engine has evolved so much this year,

started in 1998 as a rogue classic project.
Rediscovered this year.
Then updated to create outdoors type of rogue style with lakes and trees.
Added gauntlet elements.
Forked it to 3D 👌🏼

Probably will be a fusion of all, Rogue/gauntlet/doom cross
So last night i forked over my little engine in LUA from 2D to 3D to a similar engine to classic Doom.

This is a very early Alpha sneak peek of what's to come and i have not even added the advanced stuff yet.

This engine will be available for free once the game is built around it, allowing you to create your own unique Rogue experience.

With plans to complete it by the end of the year, it will be fully open source, and the game itself will also be free. ❤️

I ask nothing in return.
I'm revamping my 1995 project, The DUNK engine, which focuses on rogue RPG endless map generation with natural landscapes. It's currently in zero graphics mode, but I'm excited to bring it to life and make a game out of it.

I've been adding some special enemies to my #pico8 game to provide a little bit more of a challenge. These are probably my two favourites so far; an enemy that summons and invulnerable wall of googly eyes, and another that pressures the player by advancing EVERY turn (instead of every 2nd turn).

The gatehouse level is properly dificult now, how many wisps is too many wisps? Still lots of blancing to do and playtesting but the final stretch is stretching ever so slightly less!

First day learning pico8!! Only really gotten the basics of player movement and sprite draw down. Animation is pretty tricky too. I cannot wait to learn how to properly use the music tool.
Any pico8 devs out there pls recommend any good learning materials :))

OMG ITS SO CUTE, reminds me of the gold days of using Mario Paint when I was a kid
