“We want to look forward, not backward. Now is the time for bipartisan cooperation, not divisive finger pointing. I pledge to work with my friends across the aisle to bring the country together.”

Cowards, charlatans, and short-sighted dipshits, the lot of ‘em.
There are going to be prominent Democrats and mainstream media voices who insist that we have to "turn the page" and "forgive and forget" and they should all be roundly ignored, if not mercilessly mocked.
It’s crazy to think about the crimes we’re going to learn about after this regime ends.

We’re already hearing about Watergate level crimes every week. Imagine what will come out after it’s over.

We’re going to need a full accounting of all that’s been done in violation of the constitution.

An enormous wall of trash about 500 feet in length and up to four stories tall was recently discovered near a highway in the English countryside, leading to a national outcry across Britain. nyti.ms/4oP3vbP
A Colossal, Hidden Pile of Trash Ignites Outcry in Britain
The discovery of a mountain of garbage near a highway is the latest example of what experts say is a growing problem of criminal organizations profiting from illegal dumping.

Everybody went after HRC for calling Trump supporters "deplorable", but Karoline Leavitt is going to get away with calling his supporters misogynistic assholes?
White House press secretary Karoline Leavitt defended President Trump’s decision to call a female reporter “Piggy” on Air Force One, claiming the insult reflected the “frankness” that helped him win a second term.

If the President can't be prosecuted while he holds office, does that mean the statute of limitations clock is paused too?
The Kremlin disguised a nearly $100 mn payment to Trump in the form of a brokered real estate deal... and both Jeffrey Epstein and William Pulte were involved in the deal. That's very interesting.

King: So I believe that we are closer tonight to a vote on the ACA tax credits than we were this morning. This agreement tonight is a win for the American people.

I'm surprised he was able to be arrested. I thought Boston was a sanctuary city for people who cheat in MLB games.
Breaking news per Jeff Passan: “Cleveland Guardians pitchers Emmanuel Clase and Luis Ortiz have been indicted by prosecutors in Brooklyn on a host of charges related to a scheme to rig bets on pitches thrown in MLB games. Ortiz was arrested in Boston earlier today. Clase is not currently in custody”

While US venture capitalists were buying monkey jpegs, and DOGE coins, and figuring out how to get Black women fired, and tweeting about white birthrates, and trying to mandate which bathroom trans kids should use, China was making progress on climate change and taking the lead in a real industry.
China has made cheap, clean energy available in huge quantities. The world should take the win econ.st/4oqFszB

Susan Collins voted yesterday to continue Trump's illegal extrajudicial killings at sea and his buildup for a war against Venezuela. Weirdly, this doesn't seem to have been mentioned in either the Press Herald or BDN.

This makes perfect sense if you think of OpenAI as a Ponzi scheme that's running out of marks. This is their last big play before Altman and friends skip town with the cash, and leave us holding the bag.
BREAKING: OpenAI is requesting US government support to help guarantee financing for the massive investments in AI chips and data centers it needs for expansion, per Bloomberg.

By Trump's own rules, this means that the pardon is invalid. Sorry about your luck, CZ.
O'DONNELL: Why did you pardon Changpeng Zhao?

TRUMP: Are you ready? I don't know who he is

O'DONNELL: His crypto exchange Binance helped facilitate a $2b purchase of World Liberty Financial's stablecoin. And they you pardoned him.

My fear has always been that when the collapse happens, it will be serious enough to absolutely clobber the economy, but not serious enough to take out the AI companies themselves. But, then I found some good news in this article...
Tech companies are pouring money into AI, and they’re not making it back. Matteo Wong and Charlie Warzel on how everything could come crashing down:

Wishing you a deep-sea Halloween! 🎃

It may be spooky season, but really, the only thing scary about the deep sea is how little we have explored it.

We’ve figured out the tricks on how to get down there, now it’s time to find the treats!

Nonstick cookware's life is so short, that it's crazy to use the expensive stuff. It doesn't matter if it cost $30 or $180, once it's scratched or worn, you've gotta replace it.

I know it’s too much to expect them to know their history, but if the American Revolution had a motto, it definitely would not have been “immigrants go home.”

It would have been “get your fucking soldiers out of our cities.”

We really need a couple of federal judges to rule that a President's pardon power allows him to revoke pardons issued by previous Presidents. That might get some people to reassess the risk of their ongoing lawlessness. Sorry Hunter, but you're gonna have to take one for the team.
