There must be a better way than using slurs to express this, yes? After all, the term you've been slinging about is for all mechanical lives, which some great heroes are.

he didn’t really care much for the car being caught. he did take certain measures to make sure it didn’t hit the boy, but if the robot caught it it made his job easier.
