President Trump’s Truth Social account—a collection of posts ranging from endorsements and memes to political attacks and congratulations—is more than just a stream of the commander in chief’s unfiltered thinking. It is also a ledger of promises that can be checked to better understand whether he is following through on his directives and threats.⁠⁠The "realDonaldTrump" account has published more than 6,000 posts since the president took office a year ago, according to a Wall Street Journal review of its online activity. More than half the time, the account simply linked to news articles, shared images or videos, or reshared previous posts by others or the president himself. But of the rest—the more than 2,700 primarily text-based postings that chronicled the president’s thinking—hundreds amounted to clear promises to enact change.
