what do I do when I quickly need to order adapter boards for a project? @aisler.net, of course!

(last two weeks of NNNI25 for €10 off!🤗)

I look at this thing I (re)created and I say to myself "I wish Ronald Swerlein was alive"

does this explain why when asking for help with programming, people get flamed and end up start a tribal war amongst the "experts", who then devolve into personal name-calling, but when asking for help with electronics, 3 EEs civilly discuss ideas and present one unified solution
A key factor for making technical discussions more successful (and enjoyable) is to resist the urge to one up each other. Don't try to prove you're smarter than others, instead work collaboratively towards a solution, benefiting everyone involved.

I get the new announcement and all that, but does anyone seriously still use Arduino boards or the IDE?

(RP2 shill here)

huge shout-out to @gimpofficial.bsky.social, it's made my obsessive scope shot editing possible, pixel-by-pixel

(trying to replicate what AoE did, maybe with my own twist)
(colours are just me playing around)

have the people who keep recommending FPGAs for fast ADC sampling never heard of the RP2 family and PIO😒

(processing at that speed becomes a question mark though 🥴)

today I embraced chaos and started a new project despite having 39203342 unfinished ones

meanwhile rpi be like:
"who wants to buy my cheap chips/boards?" *everyone*
"who wants to install my lightweight (open-source) SDK?" *everyone*
Every single time

just tested the TLV1871, looks like it's a worthy successor to the LM311! the package is a bit of a handful to solder though, but otherwise I love the ±15 V capability and the push pull output

now I can have another shot at testing the comparator... thanks @aisler.net 😋

I made a silly noob mistake and fried a brand new comparator... but that's another chance to redo the board (with input dividers so I can set a threshold!) and send it off to @aisler.net 😋

it never fails to amaze me how uni turns something as interesting as electronics into THE most boring mathematical slop

this one ended up slightly weird because I want MAXIMUM decoupling for the LT1016 ultrafast comparator
October 26, 2025 at 10:37 AM
this idea might be a dud, at least the way I've implemented it here... whoops!

the sampling voltage tracker samples voltages and tracks!

it feels so nice to finally have a project for parts I've had lying around for ages... I need adapters though, I wonder where to go😏
