Took Soma Bringer for a spin tonight. A Monolith Soft top down action RPG with pinches of Xenoblade 1-isms. 1 player & 2 CPUs, break status threshold used for hit reactions, passive MP regen out of battle. It even has a corpse mechanic & co-op, apparently. And nice tunes 🎶

Switch capture library is filling up with rounds of SoulCalibur 2. Even after Weapon Master mode is 100% complete, I can take the unlockables into Extra Arcade (+other revised modes) and the single-player content keeps going!

Still loving how stages can dictate positioning and punishables like VF.

I recently finished Chrono Trigger. Definitely feels like one of those "required reading" games for people interested in RPGs & mechanical lineage in Final Fantasy games that came after it.

Finished Prime Remastared on Hard. Remained a breeze given how you naturally come across 90% of Energy Tanks in the game. A well-timed Power Bomb negates a lot of nonsense too.

Still crazy how they nailed Samus feeling like a tank, with enough schmoovement to keep navigation constantly engaging.

The "Year of the Ninja" has been a bittersweet affair for me. Ultimately, I didn't have much lasting affinity for all 3 games released, but it put the series back on the map (mostly in arguments).

At the very least, it is rounded off with an outpour of tributes to the man who made it all possible.

A tale as old as time.
I have to report that Nintendo forgot to celebrate Metroid Monday yesterday (I bet you didn't know it was a thing)

Falling in love with, or at the very least, developing a profound respect for Radiant Silvergun's scoring system. Incredibly strict in a sense, but there are still a variety of ways to build score outside of colour chains, like grazing walls/ignored ships, boss destruction... It's all necessary.

Prime 1 on hard has been a breeze, but thankfully Phazon Mines steps it up.

No save room from the entrance to the Power Bomb, and inbetween you face new beam-specific enemies, 2 minibosses (one you can't lock-on to), and an electric maze.

Visor switching is just as critical as the beams here.

SC2 stays goated 20+ yrs on, the introduction of walls makes matches even more dynamic.

Weapon Master remains a joy to blitz through. My fav aspects of VF and Smash combine to create a litany of interesting & amusing challenges. Lots of great setups to show off attack properties like this!

I don't even dislike Berseria as much as most, but what a rotten move to pull. No mention of making movement speed faster (which would make it a lot more replayable), not even an upgrade path.

Maybe captures won't be blocked this time. I'll pick it up when it's ~10 bucks a month after release.
