Took Soma Bringer for a spin tonight. A Monolith Soft top down action RPG with pinches of Xenoblade 1-isms. 1 player & 2 CPUs, break status threshold used for hit reactions, passive MP regen out of battle. It even has a corpse mechanic & co-op, apparently. And nice tunes 🎶

The thing that really gets to me about this alleged AI revolution is that after all the stolen work, after all the environmental damage, after all the ethical questions of the humans we're replacing, the end product is consistently fucking dogshit.
The only thing less human than these AI dub performances is the decision to sign off on them
A company this big can pay human actors a decent wage, not produce slop that intentionally removes the human element.

I really hate how Call Of Duty just sucks the oxygen out of the room. So, the campaign in the annual corporate franchise sucks this year? There's been more words written about that than probably EVERY OTHER FPS RELEASED THIS YEAR COMBINED.

I recently finished Chrono Trigger. Definitely feels like one of those "required reading" games for people interested in RPGs & mechanical lineage in Final Fantasy games that came after it.

Thinking again about this illustration near Atelier Judie's end. Great capstone to hours of wandering & lighthearted synthesis. Contrasts everything in the game from Judie's expression to the dampened lighting. She wants to get this last creation right more than anything else. Insanely memorable.

It's a little bit like how 4th level spells, zettaflare, Ultima, Verum Rex, Ultros cameo and Riku's arc in general made for a VERY Final Fantasy-esque game but apparently KH3 "removed the final fantasy elements" because Cloud isn't there to act OoC and give us another decade of misinterpretations

Yes it’s:
The slop
The theft
The brainrot
The loss of work
The crumbling of creator rights
The destroying of the environment and infrastructure
But it's also the destroying of trust in anything that you’re not seeing with your own eyes right in front of you.
Wonder now turned to the narrowing of eyes in immediate scepticism seeing something magical.
Questioning the realness of everything from a stilted written apology to profound works by students in school.
It feels like a slow poison to creativity and humanity at large.
