We're fighting to stop the development of a heat-generating, water-guzzling, energy-draining Amazon data center in the Sonoran Desert! We're a leaderful coalition of people based in Southern Arizona. Join us! https://tinyurl.com/nddcjoinus
Tucson’s city attorney has filed a request to intervene at the Arizona Corporation Commission to protect TEP customers. We’ll be at the ACC meeting Wednesday morning to tell them to vote no on the deal. We’ll also be at the Pima County Board of Supervisors to tell them we expect them to act too.

They’re trying to put multiple data centers everywhere from Phoenix down to Tucson, including on Davis-Monthan Air Force Base. 😡
Arizona! Join us in Phoenix next Wed. at 9am for the ACC meeting. You can sign up to speak in-person (or remotely if you can't make it), or submit a statement if you don't want to speak: efiling.azcc.gov/online-servi... No to Project Blue, no to APS rate hikes and commitment to fossil fuels!

I've done a lot about Google Search and I honestly could do more about TPUs, but there's not a ton out there about the buildout. That being said my Signal is ezitron.76 if you work at Google, especially in Google Cloud or Capex 😀 I have so many questions 😀 please tell me stuff 😀
Ed, you’ve looked at NVIDA very closely lately and given really good information. Is there any plan to do the same scrutiny on Google and its ai efforts? Google seems to be the only mag 7 company that isn’t circular financing NVIDA and seems to be the company Altman is most concerned about now

"John Quigley, senior fellow at the Kleinman Center for Energy Policy at the University of Pennsylvania, pointed to the “data center frenzy” as the primary driver of higher electricity prices for households"

Definitely a strong consensus among researchers that data centres *do* make bills higher
AI data center 'frenzy' is pushing up your electric bill — here's why
Energy-hungry data centers that underpin artificial intelligence are contributing to higher residential electricity bills, say experts.

The ACC needs to go, TEP needs to listen to its customer and no one ‘needs’ AI or these hostage situations of Rich getting richer.

We see you Pima Supes.
After months of this docket sitting with the ACC, they decided to recommend it and gave us just two weeks before the vote. Oh and this major holiday weekend fell within those two weeks. We’re just community members trying to spend time with our families and we have to mobilize instead.
Update on the last two weeks of data center BS in Pima County: Beale wants the land for Christmas, the ACC gives us two weeks warning before voting on the TEP/Beale energy service agreement, Marana announces public hearings for land twice the size of Project Blue for data centers. Happy holidays!!

Arizona! Today (11/28) is the last day to submit public comments to the Arizona Corporation Commission before against the deal between TEP and Beale to build a hyperscale data center (Project Blue) east of Tucson. We have a guide on our website on what to say. nodesertdatacenter.com

Yesterday, our movement mobilized on short notice to protest TEP, the Canadian-owned for-profit energy monopoly that’s been making our electric bills a nightmare. They’re poised to supply power to Project Blue, but we’re in their way and not backing down.
