Just want to shout-out the @ire.org AccessFest Intro to Data Journalism session - I've always meant to pick up more data skills but it always seemed a bit daunting to me b/c I'm not a math/numbers person.

(I do sometimes warn people in journalism spaces when I share a social media handle that fyi you will see me doing a lotta basketball posts on some platforms if you follow me expecting me to be in journalist mode the whole time, lol)

Plus if humanity as a species can't fully shake those tribalistic tendencies I'd rather see them channeled towards something low-stakes like sports fandom.

I get that there's a lot going on in the world but if there's actually an anti-sports talk contingent here I've not seen it, personally (not skeptical they exist just, literally haven't seen it). Sports are a way to escape everything for a few hours for me.

Delon Wright takes a hit to the face from Jaylen Clark, is bleeding from his face & mouth at center court. Then is taking back to the locker room with help of teammates and staff. Concerns for concussion too.
