We’ve lost Drew Struzan. A modern master, who by all accounts was a humble, sweet, loving, dedicated man. His work influenced culture itself, & we’ll be seeing that influence until the end of the modern world. What a legacy. What a body of work. May he rest well, & may his memory be a blessing.

On a side note I caught Perfect Blue in cinema yesterday night with @eoinmarron.bsky.social. It was my first time watching the Satishi Kon film. Without a doubt possibly the tightest script I’ve ever seen and I mean that as the highest compliment.

Great creative recharge today at my first life drawing session in ages with Hannah (spe.echka on IG) modelling at Waterloo Action Centre! Rusty as hell, so hopefully I can make it a more regular occurrence going forward. Mix of 2-20min poses, mostly working with graphite stick.

So my “hot” comics take is that if your pencils look like this…please…don’t let them make you feel like you need to ink. I’m begging you. Throw some values or, if you must, some color—and call it a day! Show me the artifice! It’s so compelling! (I believe this is Steve Skroce for Doc Frankenstein)
