That's nice in theory, but unfortunately if you're a young person who doesn't know these books exist and they are not present in your library, then there's no way for you to know to seek those books out.

It's not just about saying "you're not allowed" it's about making them invisible.

15+ years ago the superintendent of the vocational high school I worked at said at a meeting "I need you all to remember we are a business first." Less than a year later I left teaching. I think I'd have gotten fired by now for my vehement objections to AI if I was still working in education.

That first image is either a different dog or more likely an AI image. (look at the coloring right around the dog's nose; it's different than the other three pictures. Plus those water droplets are suspect.)

I'm not blaming the bot, just letting folks know.

Clicked that link and saw the domain name... texted my best friend immediately and said "pearl jam fan?!" Then I investigated the site and saw the "about" page and my theory was confirmed.

I have an order on the way including those in charcoal and the green forest mushroom socks I've been wanting for AGES.

I'd love to see these in tan or cream. (Or I may just have to buy white and dye them! Won't be the first pair; mottled black dyes up great!)

I have to disagree about the "novels" depending on the image. Some artists do a beautiful job of describing their work in detail, allowing folks who depend on the text to participate in the same story that is being told by the image for everyone else.

Right before Singal joined, the bluesky team released a list of new features they were considering charging for, and lots of us were like YES I'D TOTALLY PAY FOR THAT!!

But instead of capitalizing on that, they went with whatever the fuck this nonsense is in hopes of capitalizing some other way.

And typically the commissary is much closer to the homes on base and easier to access than going off base to a supermarket.

In Twentynine Palms, CA, a lack of commissary at the base would mean a minimum 15 minute drive in each direction for the nearest grocery store.

They had to pay a fine, but they're still allowed to use the data that they illegally trained on, so as long as their profit is larger than the fine they had to pay, it's just the cost of doing business.
