Hey kids! Wanna see me paint myself into a corner over a costume design detail?
Finding a design for the arm armor of this character while following the design direction I have for their culture AND maintaining a readable silhouette has proven to be... tricky.
A sketch page filled with iteration of the same character over and over. The character is an armored Earthen (dwarf-like ancestry). The sketches are focused on the arm part of the armor, with articulated, cloth, mail, and even naked shoulder variations.

Three panels, the leftmost depicting a concrete complex with bridges of thick rope connecting to tall doors. The two doors have an inhumanly large eye peeking through one and two gigantic fingers curling into the other. Target-shaped pits are dug out from the wall as an inky abyss lays both above and below. The right-top panel depicts a girl kneeling by an inky black swamp, which is bubbling with strange bubbles. The last panel on the bottom right has a close-up of the girl's eyes. Targe-shaped circles are forming in her irises. There are three coins outside the panels, The left coin is shiny and new, the second is dirtied and corroded, and the final coin has a large chunk eaten out of it by the corrosion. The girl on the coin's face is unrecognizable in the final coin.

An old korrigan (Britton elf?), who is roughly the size of the crow, is chilling on the shoulder of the mech. in the cockpit, three little korrigans are playing. On the ground, from right to left : 2 little korrigans are drawing children drawing on the mech, standing on the root of the tree the robot is resting on.
