Word of the Day is ‘uhtcearu’ [ucht-kay-aru, with the 'ch' as in the Scottish ‘loch']:

Old English for ‘the sorrow before dawn', when you lie awake in the darkness and worries crowd your mind.

Word of the Day is one I keep posting at the end of the year, hoping its time will come.

‘Respair’, from the 16th century, is fresh hope, and a recovery from despair.

Here’s to a few drops of respair in 2025.

Dear all, the German government has not “collapsed”. That happened a month ago. Today’s no confidence vote was an entirely usual procedure in keeping with our constitition. The outcome was clear, as were the elections in February.
Enough drama in the world without construing it.

Ok I know nobody cares about this but me, but GOD I care:

1. I have just downloaded your app.
2. You want me to make an account. I don’t want to make an account!
3. When I enter my email, you inform me that I already have an account! This seems like a good thing, but I know it means only pain. 1/2
