@daveadenison.bsky.social 👏 for the follow up on @amywestervelt.bsky.social + @hammerandhope.bsky.social:
How are policies geared toward white people? "There was very little for renters, who are disproportionately people of color. They’re younger and have less money."
Homeowner eugenics.
Justice40, Biden’s government-wide environmental justice policy, failed to serve the marginalized communities it was meant to protect. So, too, did the IRA. And some of the blame for that rests on the shoulders of environmentalists.

“If the sovereign’s power over a person through their body ceases once a body is buried, Israelis have found a workaround: they pull the body out of the earth. __Come here, I’m not done with you__.”

The rhythm of Mary Turfah’s sentences are as devastating as what she writes about
In Gaza, Israel takes truckloads of Palestinian bodies for DNA testing, to make sure they are not Israeli. They seldom return them. Mary Turfah examines what they are doing with the dead, how it structures Israeli power, and why they get away with it.

Pastoralist is jargon for fascist connected to the Australian farming industry.
Like all the other white colonialists we have, making bank from fossil fuelled agriculture.
Because who owns the most land globally? It's not First Nations people in Australia. No lack of bigoted racist homophobes.

Tonight's protest in Melbourne against the visit of Israeli president Isaac Herzog is even bigger than Monday night's rally.

Undoubtedly people are turning up to support Palestinians and protest against with the police violence seen in Sydney.

One thing that astonishes me about the Herzog visit is that Israel has murdered more journalists than any other state in the 21st century, and he hasn’t faced a single question about this (to my knowledge) from the Australian media

Care to explain this @nickofnz.bsky.social @greenpeace.no ?
Greenpeace Norway rightfully have a problem with Equinor. Greenpeace AP doesn't, and supports them. Why is that?

This is not true: "Greenpeace has a long and proud history of using nonviolent direct action and peaceful protest to achieve environmental protections and climate justice.".
Climate Action Network Australia still refuse to support a ceasefire.

If you check the net worth of Andrew Forrest, if we took 30 billion in 2023 and gave it to the 37800 chronically homeless Australians, they'd have over $840,000 each.
He'd still have billions.

We need to tax gas companies, because we can't have nice things without them. This is the exact excuse that @australiainstitute.org.au make, citing Norway as an example.
As of 2017, the Government of Norway is the largest shareholder with 67% of the shares of Equinor, Carbon Major.
