I assembled the one on the right last night and its is completely fucked up in a loving way. Frontlit screen, stock battery, and completely mismatched screws because i was working with spare parts. I have a third SP i could build as well but ill hold off until i have a shell i want

its incredibly funny to me that xbox mods basically co-opted various terms from circuit development as shorthand for hardmods

my main goal for 2026 will probably be to wrap jukebox development and testing and hopefully finally maybe begin selling them in the latter half of the year.
the firmware rewrite has slowed significantly because of my, uh, new hobby lately. but its pretty close to complete.

fan was not the issue, seems to be something else. ordered some new ribbon cables since those are definitely having problems. hoping that's all it is, but since the error code is so generic it's hard to figure out.
bought a Panasonic Q for myself for Christmas. nearly repaired with a new DVD mechanism. It starts the startup animation but stops with an error code due to some power issue, I think it's the fan so I'm waiting on a new one. I'll be installing picoboot with it when it arrives. Can't wait :)
