I think any physician worth their salt probably told him he coulda died from a subarachnoid hemorrhage; which is true. but its like saying you could die from a concussion. There's nothing to learn feom that statement since its so rare. Repeating it constantly shows how much it fucked his psyche up.

I wouldn't interrogate how truthful Mike's assertion is; since it's second hand information and it's easy to just not understand something you aren't involved in directly. If I hated a person, I'd endlessly interrogate every detail. But that's a crazy thing to do if you don't believe the story told.

A normal reaction to not believing a lie about a person you have an acquaintance with, is to just not engage with the thing you don't believe. Like, if I heard someone say "Mike hits their kids" and then Mike said "no i didn't hit my kid, they hit themselves and I picked them up" I'd just forget it.
