The moment the system owners realized that their "Everyone can learn EVERYTHING easier!" meant "Everyone can learn -EVERYTHING- easier" and they got a hint of organization they put all their money into making sure the information dispensers only dispense their approved information
It's weird to not only have lived through an information revolution but also now living through its undoing, all within less than a generation.
Google at its peak was basically the best information retrieval system in human history and they and every competitor decided going from there to “you didn’t want answers you wanted half-assed auto-complete 80%-wrong hallucinations” in a few years was the right idea

I absolutely hate that a lot of contemporary fantasy outings are described as "european" fantasy which is bullshit.
This has like nothing to do with europe, it's non europeans glancing over surface level aesthetics and just assuming the whole history of an entire continent is that.

My most minor "boomer take" is that it was way better when people were making music parodies "sung by celebrities" but using publicly available voice clips to splice that shit together. That was funny. AI voice is stupid in comparison.
