The style is unmistakable: satellite zoom-ins, black & white wireframes, and red-textured houses - a new visual language of war.Our analysis of 43 official IDF videos found recycled 3D environments, spatial inaccuracies, and assets lifted from unrelated artists and institutions.We traced over 30 unique assets to Washington-based 3D creator Ian Hubert, who makes bespoke models created for his sci-fi project Dynamo Dream, available to his Patreon subscribers.

Models of parking lots, antennas, + pipes were repurposed as Hamas and Iranian military sites

Fascinating work here tracing how the IDF recycled 3D assets from a cyberpunk sci-fi art project, the Scottish Maritime Museum and elsewhere to populate its widely-seen models of supposed enemy locations in Gaza, Lebanon and Iran. One of the most infamous, the alleged underground Hamas command center at Al-Shifa Hospital in Gaza City, used to justify an unprecedented assault on the biggest medical center in Gaza, was actually an animation the IDF had used the previous year, saying at the time it was a tunnel beneath a UN school.

I was able to start a business by selling a modestly popular indie game with the support of the indie dev community, lose a bunch of money doing that, get a corporate job in the gaming industry and then lose my job in the industry from mass layoffs. Twitter made me bitter.

I do think games can change if they accept what fundamentally went wrong.

Back4Blood accepted their slow card unlocks are bullshit, now the game is actually fun to build stuff in.

Payday 3 seems to be more occupied with looking like Payday 2 then actually changing to equal Payday 2

I kinda hate that I am over Payday 3

I covered a whole year and nothing really changed besides some cosmetic stuff.

Now I would need 13 bucks in a sale to cover the rest.

And there is this feeling that all the new stuff is also just cosmetic changes, looking slightly better, still the same

I mean Payday 3 is basically toast. They thought the appeal was the shooting and now the game sits on very bad foundations that removed the sandbox RPG elements.

They need to bring those back and scrap bullshit like the lockpick minigame if they want to get close to the level of 2 again

I mean Gearbox does care about their stuff.

And can just do coop games apparently compared to others.

But yeah, Payday 3 was avoidable. This is just a constant failure from planning to execution that didn't get WHY Payday worked for so long and just assumed a save audience for the bare minimum

Yeah lol, looking at the steam discussion to that post it's going as you would expect.

The irony is that they also say they're doubling the team size (Wowzie, maybe the numbers are in the tens now!) and want to keep working, rework skill system etc. but just all that AFTER shooting in the foot

If you say in the same point you're adding P2P hosting and removing mandatory accounts then you are fucking halfway to offline, literally, finish that work especially since you promised it, it's DOABLE and you shouldn't hope the people left are dumb enough to just accept online only
