It's that time again! Tonight I pick up my Bike MS packet for the Pedal to the Point ride. If you haven't already, think of donating to my ride. events.nationalmssociety.org/participants...

Like all women, I do nothing but speak in awe with my lady friends about how heavy and girth a suitor’s balls are.
I agree. The barrier to doing a blanket is the cost and the tedium of doing the same block (or set of blocks) over and over again.
Since we are already cutting out all extra spending (DH is a government employee whose job could vanish), I have added a Facebook blackout to my “spend nothing” protest—and I’ve opened FB twice already. Damn you automaticity!
No, no no. The important question is WHY is John Scalzi. When is now, clearly.
I pulled a muscle this morning--taking a bath. Getting older sucks. Not as bad as the alternatives but it still sucks.
I'm an art expert. I've currated a museum on a little island in Animal Crossing.
A heads up, I like BlueSky but everything here is functionally publicly viewable. Other apps accessing the underlying data can see your posts even with “logged on only” accounts turned on.

What makes BlueSky unownable, decentralized and open, is also what makes its data publicly accessible.
Some of the little amigurumi I've made in the past. Don't miss this chance to win!

I doing the 150 mile MS Pedal to the Point. I will give a crochet amigurumi for every hundred dollars donated. A random roll of the dice will determine winners. No upper limit to how many winners there can be. Donate $5 or $100.

Help me fight MS.
I'm supporting National MS Society!
The National MS Society's vision is a world free of MS. The Society mobilizes people and resources so that everyone affected by MS can live their best lives as we stop MS in its tracks, restore what h...

I have things I should be doing, but since checking the news casually at 11:30 am today, I've been unable to shut the panic part of my brain off.

My third grade English teacher pre-ordered my book and says she can't wait for some monster romance.
There is something glorious about fiction that not only entertains but teaches you about something you took for granted.

For the CLE peeps, Darrin Bright & I are at ConCoction again this year, running www.artemisspaceshipbridge.com/buy-cosmos-n... . Stop by and play a game or two. It's free to play at the con. We will be running Cosmos, so many many nifty changes.

It is a truth universally acknowledged that the acceptableness of garb is directly proportional to the adjacency to wealth (ie, the wearer is as rich as Croesus and/or the clothing is expensive). Therefore, it is self-evident that much of furry couture is not only acceptable but to be envied.
On Facebook, I posted a picture of a lamb I crocheted and said it was an insane amount of work. Got a reply, "You could sell these!" I mean, I could if someone was willing to pay $320 (minimum wage, not even with the cost of yarn).

Not every craft/hobby can (or should be) a side hustle.
I love a good jigsaw puzzle but I have 3 cats and one who is young enough and bored enough to not be trusted to not steal and lose puzzle pieces.
Kiddo was accepted into the Honors College at one of the schools he applied to. If he decides to go there, he gets more scholarship money for doing the honors program.

Of course, he forgot to tell me about it. I found out from a third party.
This means parents won’t see Fin Aid packages until mid-April at the very earliest.
Just heard the Dept of Education won’t be transmitting the FAFSA to colleges until mid-March.

Dudes, the end of January was insanely late this year to start with, but…6-week further delay?

If you know people who work in Fin Aid or Admission, they are having a bad bad bad enrollment season.
