The first time I saw one and they handed me the vacuum sealed cookie and I was like What Even Is This

(I like T Rex Cookies cookies but their food truck is always disappointing. Food truck! Of cookies! Sounds great! But then you roll up and they give you a cold vacuum-sealed cookie and like, do you not understand food trucks? A food truck with fresh baked T Rex cookies would be amazing!)

LOL I did not know the founder of T Rex Cookies is named Tina Rexing. A+, no notes

The thing about this that's worth recalling is that it *wouldn't* even offend most Americans: just the group of reactionary grifters who make money by being professionally offended online.

I've repeatedly had editors help me to find the thing that strengthens my story endings. I love it when they help me grow.

Hat tip to @diabolicalplots.com , @jenalbert.bsky.social , @khaalidah.bsky.social , Graeme Dunlop, and Trevor Quachri.

repost this if an editor has ever saved you from yourself

An actual hot take: Too many authors are afraid of editors watering down their voice or whatever and not afraid enough of editors letting you put any old slop on the page.

As I said, oh, just a couple of hours ago…

You’ve got to ask some serious questions about men who perceive machines as people and women as things.

We banned a guy on the Steam forums for repeatedly saying there were “too many women” in our game

So he flipped his positive review to negative

Still totally worth it

F.T. Berner's story is more angsty and melancholy, about ecological research, exploitation, guilt, and atonement, and it makes for a moving experience.

So a nice issue, which you can find under Diabolical Plots' fiction tag here: www.diabolicalplots.com/category/fic...

Diabolical Plots #127 9/25 (2 original) @diabolicalplots.com

Two very different but quite good stories. Lisa Brideau's "The Glorious Pursuit of Nominal" manages a fun tone over some grim content, and I love the voices of the sentient bots.

just watched a dozen people ask microsoft copilot experts their most pressing questions and those questions were 90% “how do i turn it off?” and “when i turn it off, is it really off or is it spying on me?”

Also the number of lines by rach color are the relative proportion for each color, each line is a bundle of six threads together.
Since I am almost done all the ones that still have full threads attached are ones that I will have leftovers that I will keep to do future non-kit sewing at some point!

Here is another shot I don't usually take, the back of the fabric. I always think it's like a weird abstract art version of it.
If someone else did the same pattern the front would look pretty much the same at the end but I wager the back would be distinct for each person depending on their style
the back of the fabric of the Master Yoda cross stitch. the overall shape is still recognizable but the details are all muddled and mixed and there are distinct sections of horizontal and vertical lines
