Found some "Star Jelly". According to legend, dropped to earth during meteor showers. Some think it's a type of fungus. Others think it from predators who have eaten frogs regurgitating the same chemicals used to create frog spawn. Tales of it dropping from the sky! Thought it was ice at first.

I was looking up black goo filmography which more or less started with The Blob but has expanded from camp sci fi adventure horror comedy like Alien Prometheus and The Fifth Element besides The Blob and spread into spy thrillers like James Bond and Disney family cartoons like Big Hero 6.
