I try to be sympathetic bc I know it's not fair to judge by my standard & that everyone's job has boring and annoying and frustrating things but listening to my spouse vent endlessly about how bored he is or his colleague like didn't answer an email or something....the well of sympathy hath run dry

just spoke with an old friend whose spouse died in the ICU recently and I feel so incredibly guilty. apparently his husband was in ICU for a month. he described everything to me and said he was going to text me so many times & didn't bc he didn't want to put that burden on me when I was clocked out

twice now I have had the weird hapstance to care for both the anonymous/deceased organ donor and one of their recipients, and I was amazed at the coincidence the first time, but feel like it was fate the second. I cried during the honor walk for this donor (they weren't my patient at the time)

my boss came & thanked me for going to a protest & I am just..have to sit with the fact that merely saying I did not agree with trump in 2018 earned me a huge target on my back almost lost my job. I was refused when I asked to go to nurses day at the capitol because "you're TOO political."

a college friend I haven't seen in over a decade posted a pic on FB including a close up of his hands. His fingertips are really clubbed (looked back at old photos and they were not in the past) kinda wondering if I should say something. but don't want to make him self-conscious..

I'm so exhausted of fighting the continual uphill battles with these people who are so convinced that just because we've always done it this way that it should continue even though it isn't fair to the nurses or the pts. probably going to get fired from this email I just sent to the ICU director 🙃
