Secretary of State Marco Rubio has identified a new enemy: Calibri.

According to multiple reports, Rubio has ordered diplomats to stop using the font—a “wasteful DEIA program” from the Biden era, he called it.
Rubio ends State Department use of Calibri
The font is widely considered more accessible for people with disabilities.

Cville folks: If you have furniture to donate, where do you go? I know the usual suspects that resell items to support their org's mission. I'm also aware of Buy Nothing groups. Just wondering if there are other options to give directly to people who are in need, starting over, etc.? Thoughts?

Our power has been out going on four hours now in Mill Creek. No update from Dominion. Maybe a small outage of 123 homes isn’t a priority? Would be nice to get it going before the snow knocks it out again, though.

Playing a game of Is It Mono, Flu, Covid or Something Else with my 20yo at urgent care. The number of people in here not wearing masks is … interesting. 😷

In 2020, the Virginia General Assembly passed my resolution HJ 85 to recognize Nov. 20 of each year as Transgender Day of Remembrance to memorialize those who died for daring to simply exist.

Some years are especially hurtful and *so* painful — and yet our resilience remains. It always has. #TDOR

Surprising no one, the person who answered the phone at McGuire's DC office could not tell me how he plans to vote tomorrow on HR 4405, the Epstein Files Transparency Act.

If you're a VA-05 voter, his number is 202-225-4711 so you can share your thoughts.

Still buzzing about the Robert Plant/Saving Grace show last night in Cville. One of my favorite shows ever.

The world is a mess right now, but at least we still have music to guard our sanity.

Voting for Miyares or not voting at all will result in Miyares winning and blocking everything Governor Spanberger does by suing her. We have seen this in other states with Dem Govs and Repub AGs.
No split tickets! Don’t believe Miyares claims of common ground. A vote for him is a vote for Trump

Really tired of the dueling press conferences. It's no wonder that nothing gets done in this country.

I can’t stop thinking about this …
Question:

If a POTUS was actually a Russian asset with the specific intent of destroying the military power, market strength, social unity, economic hegemony & global influence of the United States from within,

what would that person do DIFFERENTLY than what that asshole is doing right now?

Just left a VM for my congressman, not that he'll care. Took a lot of restraint to not start screaming obscenities.

Last week, I got the COVID and flu vaccines. My 18yo was only able to get the flu shot because he didn't have an underlying condition.

Both are contagious respiratory illnesses causes by viruses. The CDC's own website says COVID spreads more easily than the flu.

Virginia, make it make sense.

So now they’re gonna control the media. What’s next? One big beautiful channel?
FCC Chair Brendan Carr: "President Trump is fundamentally reshaping the media landscape, and the way he's doing that is when he ran for election he ran directly at these legal broadcast media outlets. For years government officials allowed those entities to dictate the political narrative."

Great way to help a deserving teacher and her students. I just ordered a few items. Can you pitch in?
Reposting my wishlist with loads of books so students can see themselves represented in texts instead of chatbots 😭
I have a wishlist this year, and it’s filled with books. Without wishlists like mine some students never have access to diverse books.

Amazon sucks; Amazon is accessible. I’m placing a Bookshop order also for some of these books. All my cash handles are heymrsbond. 💛
