Love this... Real nostalgia hit as I remember painting this back in the days of yore. If I remember correctly, I made a real car crash of it but at the time it was beautiful in my eyes

Just giving credit where it is due

Not only my first game, but the first thing I ever bought from GW on my 12th birthday... A friend taught me to highlight by drybrushing so I ended up with Sunburst Yellow Blood Angels just over a week later on Christmas day

Crisp and clean... I am always on awe of anyone who can nail NMM too... Bravo sir

Another mini painted up for an Inquisition kill team or Necromunda gang.
An upper spire doctor/scientist. Used the Genestealer cults Biophagus and just a head swap and change to the staff.

Genestealer cults Biophagus converted with a headswap from a Cadian officer with bionic eye, and the staff in his hand altered to have an Imperial emblem, sort of a mark of office/standard.
Painted with a white labcoat and grey pants. Vials/test tubes and flasks painted to appear as glass with a mixture of lurid colours in each one. Staff is brass with purple padded sections to grip.

Sox and Peanut... Genuine sisters and I promise I didn't pose this photo
oldgeek1981.bsky.social
Just seen my email... Can't thank you enough
oldgeek1981.bsky.social
Many thanks... It was a real joy to paint and I loved using the Speedpaints
oldgeek1981.bsky.social
Many thanks... Actual time with a brush was no more than around an hour ish. I did a drybrush after all basecoats of beige which made it look shocking but I stuck with my plan which seems to have worked
oldgeek1981.bsky.social
Many thanks... It was a bit of an accident as I decided to use Speedpaints and just went with what I felt could work... No idea what colours I used but it worked out in the end
oldgeek1981.bsky.social
Thanks for the feedback... The yellow one took about 2 hours including time for procrastinating... The other took the same time to basecoat. I am probably on the side of the yellow for the sole reason it reminds me of the bright, early 90's look
oldgeek1981.bsky.social
Cheers for the feedback, it genuinely means a lot... I agree that the yellow one lacks depth and I did miss doing certain things that I think would have made it better but I tied myself to Speedpaints for the mini. It reminds me of the 90's so is a bit dated when compared to current styles.
oldgeek1981.bsky.social
Wish I could recreate it but wouldn't know where to start
oldgeek1981.bsky.social
Many thanks... I would love to say it was planned etc but I literally just decided to try Speedpaints and went for colours on a whim. It seemed to have worked so all good
oldgeek1981.bsky.social
Many thanks... My second time using Speedpaints in earnest and I love how quick it was to get a decent finish... My son claimed it as soon as he saw it so it can't be bad
oldgeek1981.bsky.social
I think I agree... The purple one took more time, technique etc but the yellow one just looks "better". Maybe it's the 90's nostalgia of bright colours in me. Both have been claimed by my three year old son so I am happy either way
oldgeek1981.bsky.social
Go for it... It's a fantastic mini and I am humbled you want to use it. I will hopefully be putting an order in for more of your minis soon .. I was painting your dwarf beserker and it was my best skin tone ever and then I ballsed it up painting the eyes so a replacement is needed

Side by side of my Ogres by @wargamesatlantic.bsky.social . Both painted using @thearmypainter.bsky.social paints, the left using Fanatics and the right using Speedpaints. Would love to know what people like most so RT, RS, RP would be appreciated #wepaintminis #paintingminiatures #minipainting
oldgeek1981.bsky.social
Ogre from @wargamesatlantic.bsky.social finished. Lovely project painted using Speedpaints and brushes by @thearmypainter.bsky.social . Critique always welcome #wepaintminis #paintingminiatures #minipainting

Aside from tidying up the rim of the base, my Necromancer by @weprintminiatures.com is done. Painted with Speedpaint and brushes from @thearmypainter.bsky.social . Critique welcome always #wepaintminis #paintingminiatures #minipainting

I have another seven of these guys so I might do four more in this scheme and that gives me three to experiment on... Probably use them in D&D or Dragon Rampant
oldgeek1981.bsky.social
Many thanks... It's the second time I have used them in earnest so am pretty pleased overall. It's not display standard but for gaming it is perfectly good
oldgeek1981.bsky.social
Many thanks... It was really enjoyable just pratting about and trying new approaches. It's very bright which irked me until I realised I didn't use my go-to Strong Tone wash.
