it may sound counterproductive to sometimes unplug yourself... but it is actually necessary

don't worry, when you plug back in, you have more to give - to yourself AND others. it's important

something I've learned and am getting better about practicing is

if you don't give your brain time to rest
if you don't occasionally do nothing at all save for vibe
if you never allow yourself extended peace

your mind will start fighting for it, anyway it can. this is why I lost focus for so long

see, I haven't been to Austin, but yeah, my understanding from people who have been to/lived in both is this is EXACTLY it. it's SO silly, it's just a town full of trees, murals, coffee shops, and bicyclists. most of them are white and would love the Alamo Drafthouse. Republicans are: terrified.

but... the reason you see a dancing frog generating a real life force field against armed cronies is because deep down in their bones, regimes know there are more dancing frogs than there are fascists.

I would hope in some ways this could be inspirational. it takes so little to scare the fascists. like, really. more than ever you can see how much those fragile babies are intimidated by like a single ounce of "don't comply in advance"... it's astounding.

I've ALWAYS made art. making art is when I feel focused, engaged, I am in conversation with myself. I am asking what I think - what /I/ think. art is about the volley of asking a question.

I absolutely cannot give a shit if you've decided to outsource the questions to something that does not think.

calling it "egalitarian" is such a fucking lie, because firstly, it intrinsically steals craft and destroys artists, and secondly, it posits that all you care about is an end "product", how easily can it be streamlined and packaged up for quick consumption. that isn't how it works.

a large part of why creators coming out in support of AI is SO disappointing is because it forces you to realize that all the parts of the craft that you thought they enjoyed, all the other artists you thought they valued, are actually disposable to them. they don't care about the process of MAKING.
