I'm not *not* asking for fixes - thank you for the ideas!!

I will ponder. I am taking a field trip to Wegmans today or tomorrow regardless so I will see about options

beth the answer to if I want your baked goods is literally always yes, as it should be for anyone who is asked this question

She has some medium-complex medical stuff going on - I don't think it's OAS but I'm not 100% sure

OPBFโ€™s mom is vegetarian and as mentioned elsewhere OPBFโ€™s brotherโ€™s girlfriend (we really gotta come up with a shorter way to say this - sister in common-law? Weโ€™ve both been around a while) has a citrus sensitivity and is also allergic to a few other fruits that are less relevant on Thanksgiving

Thank you for the reminder that I need to clearly label the cider this year because we have an Orange Allergy in the House Now (OPBFโ€™s brotherโ€™s girlfriend; Iโ€™d make a version without it or with substitutes for her but I canโ€™t think of anything that will taste even close to right)

opbf accidentally does this EVERY TIME he cooks with hot peppers and at this point Iโ€™m debating investing in a gas mask

People, including Nick Saban, say Jordan-Hare Stadium is haunted

So, of course, I called experts, spent hours in the Auburn library researching past land use, bought ghost-hunting gear, used the ghost-hunting gear and tried to find out the truth

The results:

My dad was supposed to be at that game, but had a work thing come up and couldn't go. Rather than selling his ticket, my grandmother had it framed for him. We believe it to be the only un-torn ticket from that game outside the CFB Hall of Fame.

I was going to bake a dessert too (not fancy but delicious, see below) but in a minor Thanksgiving disaster, my oven heating coil is on the fritz

this is my grandmotherโ€™s mulled cider recipe and I make it every year, with a couple small modifications: no sugar, add ginger and pie spices, simmer way longer, and booze on the side because not everyone drinks; I recommend bourbon rather than brandy

thank you for coming to my Ted Talk

Georgia Tech could be hosting No. 4 Georgia this week. But it sold the game for $10 million.

And appears to have no regrets:

The ones I have seen in SCPA have mostly been volunteering with local nonprofits rather than out knocking doors, though I did see that in my neighborhood once
November 25, 2025 at 1:08 AM
They're around; they actually get assigned to go on mission here sometimes! I accidentally mildly traumatized a whole herd of them while working at [redacted nonprofit] by exclaiming "JESUS CHRIST" at a coworker of mine who had gotten DRENCHED in a sudden downpour

welcome to Pennsylvania, kids

moral of this story is that there are not a lot of Mormons in Lancaster County, PA

we got a lot of Amish tho
November 25, 2025 at 12:59 AM
I met my first Mormon at Pitt! He was a friend of a friend and was originally from Idaho. Super nice guy and easily one of the smartest kids I knew. He had several majors and was a VERY talented pianist. IIRC he has a PhD (from The Ohio State) and is an ex-Mormon now

okay so kenpom thinks this will be one (1) conference game better than the Stallings year

great job everyone
After last night's loss to Quinnipiac, KenPom favors Pitt to win three of its remaining 24 games -- vs. Hofstra (12/7), vs. Binghamton (12/17) and vs. Notre Dame (2/21).

the commentary from the color guy here is great too

The bit when theyโ€™re showing the replay translates to something to the effect of โ€œon fourth and nine? I have no idea what was going through his mind. Fourth and nine???โ€
