I would think that, given its bilingual nature, politicians in Canada would have opted to learn French from the beginning.

Everything in Ottawa has a French component, so learning is much easier. All one needs is the commitment to try.

This begs the question, "Is it the landlord's responsibility to fix the housing crisis?"

In this case, the tenant gets notice, money and adequate warning. Landlords get their property back.

The burden of fixing the housing crisis belongs to the government.

The decision to buy Canadian is made difficult by both price and selection. Nobody expects that 100% of purchases will be directed to Canadian products, but going out of one's way to buy more home-made goods than you ever have helps the entire country.

Gripen v F-35 debate seems to come down to the Gripen being a much more affordable defence unit and the F-35 being a better attack plane.
Canada's focus is on defence. Attacks are low on our list of priorities.
