I don't like to rain on this parade but I've seen this movie before.

I have hope for all involved but shattering peace in the Middle East is so easily done. It will be months before we can trust that this process is working.

I also believe that the funding model works well with the Province paying the same for local students as is paid in the public system. Foreign students pay the full shot. I'm told that in BC, private schools are a plus for the economy.

I can't speak to what's happening in Alberta, as it seems to have gone rogue, but not all private schools are the same.
There are three private schools in our area (BC), not all of whose students come from wealthy homes. Many require special assistance that the public system struggles to provide.

Without the private schools, Alberta would spend significantly more money on its school system. Many students with special needs would get lost in the public system. I don't think Alicia Taylor has a full grasp of the consequences should she get what she wants.
