Hello AoNZ/Māori/History Bluesky . Does anyone know anything about "The Māori Dentist" pictured here at Raetihi? High chance he would not be based there full time or actually a dentist as itinerant dentistry by anyone who could wield a pair of forceps was horrifyingly typical 😬😅

ok so i got some *more* constructive criticism from bird artists on my attempts at drawing birds. many said the legs weren’t realistic enough and i suspect they were right. i think i finally got it in this year’s calendar though, lemme know what you think

I think if you just write off belief as superstition, and women's belief as oppression/mind control, you struggle to comprehend a lot of what happens and come up with kind of insulting explanations instead.

Is meningitis not a thing anymore or do the kids just not get taught about it? I remember it was THE boogie man while I was at high school. My daughter just nonchalantly said she'd been sharing her friend's drink bottle 🤢 and seemingly none of them have heard of meningitis.

Sometimes I get Google to read news articles etc to me because it helps me read along when my eyes are doing wierd things and/or the adhd hits. Except now it uses AI to paraphrase pages into podcast form with the most annoying cadence. I can't figure out how to turn this off or if that's possible 😭'

A bit over my body being so broken with no answers. Currently stuck in limbo waiting until I can get repeat tests and *hopefully* a specialist that doesn't reject my referral. So I can't take meds I know would help lest I suppress the issue and end up back at square one.

Really bummed about about this whole measles thing and the state of the discourse. There are understandable reasons (historic and ongoing) why many groups who are under-vaccinated have distrust of suthorities and the medial establishment. But the real conspiracy is the same as it's always been.
