this field biologist does a great job highlighting the insidiousness of AI editing

these one-click AI edit buttons are incredibly appealing to many photographers, amateurs and professionals alike, and are framed as innocuous

this is worth sharing and educating people about

Have you had moments you see a restoration of a preshistoric animal & then get surprised by its size upon further reading?

That was Nochnitsa geminidens for me. I thought it would've been like a huge dog, but you could easily fit it inside a purse.

A lovely customer sent in a pic of a gorgeously crocheted hat she made w/ 'Rainbow Magi' & these are a huge hit so they're becoming gifts she's making. I think it's a basketweave stitch w/ a gorgeous ribbing on the bottom.

Always a love letter to receive pics of your projects. 🧶🫶🏾

While I'm aware of The Game of Wool & its onion layers of controversy, I don't think I can meaningfully add anything new about the show in such commentary.

There's a few mental notes for what I'd change in Tom Daley's & the judges' outfits & that's about it.

I don’t always do this, but this year, I felt inspired and made a holiday card.

May your drums roll as you wish them to throughout the season and the coming year.

The years aren't gonna get better anytime soon so we should grow tougher together. May we persist.

Geek Squad confirmed canon.

NGL I think the contrast is funny.
For better or worse, canonically, Samus seems to think that Myles MacKenzie sucks, too

As noted in my preview, the impression I got from Nintendo is that he's not a game-long companion. That you'll mostly explore without him. A trailer today does shows other allies.

As an art nerd I worry my compliments in noticing the DNA of a person's work is perceived as passive aggressive, public pantsing. I just think it's neat to notice/work out the intent & feelings besides my own that I've taken from a piece.
I’ve sometimes fallen into the trap of thinking that complementing a creative person for their work is less sophisticated or desired than discussion or debate about it but very often the best thing you can say to them is hell yeah and that doesn’t make you dumb it just makes you nice

Fangipede I draw in a bit over 4 hours while attempting to stream... which didn't go well, because the Android app for Twitch is busted and terrible. But hey, there's a silent VOD of it up!

The seasonal blues have caught up to me. I'll just say it's not endless ennui but the bright spots don't always sync up with what's happening.

Today I hope it does. I'm going to see one of my baby nieces.

I'd worry a lot less about turning my passions into a side hustle, rent a carpet cleaning machine, & get on with my day.

What a weird, demoralizing morning.

If there's something good gained from having watched Midwest Magic Cleaning, the advice for sympathizing with people, & motivation that had helped me clean was solid. At the very least.

People really loved the ornaments, they were the first things to go flying! I'll keep making them as a mainstay for sure.
