Whether subsumed by this or another category, I think there are also the soc.scientists that just learnt "positivism = bad" and are not actually interested in changing that opinion. Like, disinterestedness, "no skin in the game", akin to the "job as any other" scientist 🤷
... I basically think some social scientists are somewhat lacking in imagination and to that extent small-c conservative, while others are pretty obviously just scared and resentful of maths cos it makes them feel stupid and everyone finds mastery of it more impressive than stuff they're good at...

I think the consensus is that the five stages of grief theory is not empirically supported, but does it still nonetheless apply when writing a paper? Signed, a person somewhere between bargaining and acceptance...

Uudessa työssäni pääsen opettelemaan Pronto-tietokannan saloja. Tiesitkö, että jos Prontosta hakee useamman vuoden selosteita, mutta haettaviin tietoihin ei lisää mitään tapaa yksilöidä jokaiset selosteet, Pronto antaa vain ensimmäisen tuloksen per vuosi? Opin 1h vianetsinnän jälkeen...

Been using Linux for almost two years now, and it finally happened: I bricked my installation by running privileged commands where I shouldn't. Turns out, accidentally running "sudo chmod" on root, panicking upon realization, and interrupting the command is, uhh, Bad.

If I ever write a book, it's going to be at least this convoluted to read, if not more - the knowledge contained within will naturally be too obtuse to understand from a linear perspective.
If you read chapters 1 and 3 you can ignore the rest (or maybe you’re meant to read chapters 5 and 6 in parallel?)
