I just asked the woman working at my supermarket where the relish is for a potato salad. She said “you’re not putting that in potato salad,” walked out from behind her counter and made sure I got every single ingredient for a proper East German one.

I see this stuff all the time. People arguing basic ideas that have long been figured out by people smarter than them. It’s an epidemic, especially in the corporate world.

It says a lot that an organization that made a big deal out of stopping local endorsements felt so threatened by Mamdani that they basically broke that promise but in a way to keep what I assume they think is plausible deniability.
NYT Editorial board effectively endorses Andrew Cuomo today in the most weaselly possible way. “Don’t rank Mamdani, and it will probably be either him or Cuomo, sooo…”
