Pittsburgh has a new airport terminal. To me, it's the most important travel story of 2025. Not because the old one was too big and inconvenient, but bc it was a reminder of one of the worst corporate backstabbings in U.S. history.

For my whole adult life, whenever a friend has flown into Pittsburgh for the first time, I have told them the story of how USAir fucked Pittsburgh over and why we had way too big an airport as a result. It was actually very cathartic to go back through the whole history for this story

I wrote about the bizarre, delightful, and reverent resurgence of the Edmund Fitzgerald—on the occasion of the 50th anniversary of the ship's wreck.

Stunning story by @jesspish.bsky.social: He became the most famous sheriff in the U.S. after his hunt for his wife's "real killers" inspired a $60 million 1973 blockbuster ($430 million in today dollars). It was all a lie and his hometown can't deal.

Probably naive sincereposting, but man I feel lighter this morning. Been too easy this last year to believe everyone around us agrees with all the bad things going on, or at least are willing to tolerate it. Yesterday showed pretty clearly that's not true
