When you get defensive about feedback, you fail twice. You fail to learn today, and you fail to encourage people to keep teaching you tomorrow.

If you can't handle the truth, people stop telling you the truth.

A key to growth is showing that you're coachable.

Something that I think about often is the "missing middle" in compliance. It's why I'm delighted to be a part of TCAE's Conference. The cost for attendance is reasonable& that's key to setting a place at the table for future leaders 🫶

Managing risk well means balance. For some, especially members of the LGBTQ+ community, knowing personal information could be exposed is enough to opt out of becoming a business owner or board member altogether.

I'm really impressed with the videos that Canada's #AML regulator, FINTRAC, is putting out. The most recent is a series on suspicious transactions.

When I started reading The Catalysts I expected a book about cryptocurrency & crime. While those topics are covered, the context across multiple domains is addressed with stunning clarity, and beautiful optimism. I can't recommend this book highly enough.

Closing out day 2 of the #FATF Private Sector Collaborative Forum in Mumbai. The ‘mic drop’ moment came early in today’s session when Sangeeta Goswami said ‘the politics of risk is abstracted from the science of risk’ and ‘we can’t regulate our way out of systemic issues.’ 🧵

I’m leaving day 1 of the FATF Private Sector Collaborative Forum with a renewed appreciation for the massive task that is making #AML recommendations for a global audience as FATF does. The balance between risk mitigation and financial inclusion is not easy 🧵
