I'm on the east coast and thus can't take advantage of this, but if you're somewhere in the midwest.... get on this.

I just bought $23(!!!) tickets on Stubhub for Paul McCartney in Minneapolis next week.

I've seen him 5 times and never paid under $100.

I wouldn't sleep on those 🎟 if you're interested. I sent a mass email to all my music students parents letting them know those are available.

Give folks their flowers

No, I mean right now. Go tell someone you loved their work right now. They're on social media just say it, it has never been easier

"They know how much people love--" no they don't go say it right now to a composer or artist or game dev or writer or anyone AAAAAAAHHHHHHHHH

I don't know if there's ever been a better guitar tone than the one Ron Wood had in Faces.
pamaddox.bsky.social
It is never a bad time to listen to Faces.

This feels uniquely like something that should have been referenced on Mystery Science Theater 3000

I am at the *exact* intersection of Millennials and Gen X. This feels like a much more accurate way to sort myself than by generation, because I'll be *dammed* if I'm gonna watch a video when I could just read an article.
kattenbarge.bsky.social
The real generational divide is people who refuse to watch a video if it could be an article versus people who refuse to read an article if it could be a video

(Also, the show was *well* past its prime when the *first* movie came out, but I don't feel like I really even need to point that out)
pamaddox.bsky.social
Like - the whole nostalgia angle here is worth picking apart. Times change! I just think it's *also* worth noting that the video isn't even factually accurate!

I *worked* as a cashier at Walmart back in 2001. By that point, nothing in this video existed.

This is doing numbers on social media right now and it's so depressing how people truly yearn for this shit and want to preserve that feeling indefinitely like a mausoleum of false memories.

When I was a teenager, I spent about a year with no running water at my house due to various circumstances. This necessitated going to a local laundromat to do my laundry. Said establishment had a single arcade machine: This one. I can't fully express just how good I got at this game.

Coworker desperately trying to talk some sense into me at 3:30am but he doesn't realise 99% of my brain capacity is permanently occupied by gryphons right now

You might say that that's a function of who I follow here, but.... that's exactly the point! I follow the kinds of people who post about the Buckingham/Nicks reissue! I don't get a ton of political shit jammed down my throat by the almighty algorithm here!
pamaddox.bsky.social
I find it funny that people talk about BlueSky as if its a huge hub of political extremism. Here on BlueSky, most of the posts I've seen in the last couple weeks are about the reissue of the Buckingham/Nicks LP. When i checked in on my old account over on X: The Everything Site.... hoo boy.

It's my favorite game of all time! Not the *best* game of all time, but my favorite (if that distinction makes sense)

I was in high school when the GBC release happened and I lived in the middle of nowhere. I borrowed my dad's car and drove fifty miles each way to get to a GameStop so I could buy it on Day One.

I never got all the monster medals, but I was intrigued by the idea that I *could*

I am just now learning about this and HOLY SHIT I am pumped.

Warning you all now; I will not shut up about this when it releases.

I have played:
* The NES release (multiple times)
* The Game Boy Color release
* A fan translation of the Super Famicom release
* The new HD-3D release

I will play this game every time it's released with a new coat of paint.
